Praa Sands
The small coastal village of Praa Sands (pronounced "Pray") is part of the Parish of Breage and located between the towns of Helston and Penzance in West Cornwall. It is primarily a tourist area and is an attractive location for surfers due to the shallow waters and provision of lifeguard attendants during the summer months, and holiday makers who take advantage of the beautiful beach and coastal scenery. It is also a popular location for campers with many sites in the area.
Above the beach is Praa Sands Golf Club, a picturesque 9 hole links course which is open to non– members and provides a sizeable challenge for the hardened golf enthusiast, especially in strong winds.
Close to the village is also the famous haunted castle of Pengersick which is reputed to be one of the most haunted castles in the UK and was featured in Series Two of Most Haunted with Yvette Fielding and Derek Acorah.
